The Team

The Quality Assurance (QA) team’s purpose is to ensure that the services/software customers receive, consistently meet, or exceed expectations which helps boost Viva Wallet reputation. This is achieved by initially reviewing the project and quality requirements, designing, and executing the required test scenarios, reporting the issues and by improving the SDLC processes. The main roles in the QA team are the Quality Assurance Engineer and the Software Engineers in Test (SET).

The Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for a multitude of tasks and is expected to be able to work independently, assist their teammates and mentor junior Quality Assurance Engineers. You will also be expected to collaborate across multiple workstreams and roles like architects, project management leads, engineering leads across the Technology Group or Operators from the Central Operations Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Develop and execute manual tests in order to ensure product quality.
  • Identify dependencies, ambiguities or omissions.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Participate in review sessions and acceptance testing led by the Product team.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Working knowledge of test management software tools and SQL.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Basic web amp; mobile testing experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Basic programming skills and API testing experience will be considered a plus.
